Spoorpark in Diest is laid out on the old railway bed south of the city centre. The former goods line was transformed into a green corridor with walking and cycling routes, play elements and a connection to the station square. The project fits within the redesign of the district around the station, with attention to greenery, water and soft mobility. The park connects the city centre with the walking routes towards the citadel and the Webbekomsbroek nature reserve.

The layout is completely flat and the main routes are widely paved with asphalt or tight concrete pavers, ideal for wheelchair users. Benches, picnic tables and viewpoints lie at wheelchair-friendly intervals. Play equipment for children was chosen to be inclusive, including a wheelchair-friendly swing area. Accessible toilets are not available within the park, but they are available in the station building and the nearby town hall.

Accessible parking spaces are located at Diest station and at Halve Maan. The station itself is accessible by lift and connects directly to the park. Combine a walk in Spoorpark with a visit to the beguinage of Diest or Halve Maan for a wheelchair-friendly day trip.
