Hertog Jan is one of the most distinguished restaurants in the Low Countries, led by top chef Gert De Mangeleer. The restaurant charms with a menu that puts vegetables centre stage and conjures seasonal works of art on the plate. In its relocation project in Bruges, the story continues under the same philosophy of hyper-local produce, its own kitchen garden and personal service.

The restaurant was designed with accessibility as a starting point. The main entrance is entirely step-free and leads directly into a spacious reception area. The dining room has carefully placed tables with wide passages, and there is plenty of room to position a wheelchair comfortably at the table. The adapted toilet has a full turning circle, grab rails on both sides and a lowered washbasin. Staff are trained to provide discreet additional support.

The restaurant's own car park includes reserved spaces next to the entrance. The surrounding roads are paved and level. For visitors without their own transport, a taxi can pull up to the entrance directly. The historic centre of Bruges is a short drive or roll away via an accessible route along the Minnewaterpark.
